This DIY Disinfecting Spray and Wipes can Protect you and your family against cold and flu or other viruses like Coronavirus (Covid-19). 

     With limited supply of disinfectants at the store, why not save money and make your very own disinfecting spray with items you already have at home.

If you can’t find disinfecting sprays at the store now to buy, you can easily make yours with items you might already have at home.

Homemade DIY Disinfectant Spray

This is the mixture recomended by the CDC

For large amount: One Gallon

Items You need:

1/3 cup bleach

Mixing container and spray bottle or travel bottle 

1 gallon water


add 1/3rd cup (5 tablespoons) of bleach to a  gallon of water

shake the mixture and use.

For a small amount: Quart

Add 4 teaspoons of  bleach to a  quart of water

mix and use.

Personal preference

You can add a few drops of tea tree oil, lavender or any other scent  –  Lavender oil – a 


According to the CDC, “Diluted household bleach solutions can be used if appropriate for the surface. Check to ensure the product is not past its expiration date. Unexpired household bleach will be effective against coronaviruses and other cold and flu viruses when properly diluted. Leave solution on the surface for at least 1 minute
